Cornwall Motor Speedway and Quebec Tracks On the Schedule for  Team Ladouceur

The racing season for Brianna Ladouceur is off to a slow start in2021 but that will all change in the coming day. The Ontario Government has released the plan to slowly open up the economy and this means racing will be back in some form, which is good news for Brianna and her team.

Once again Brianne has her eyes focused on her home track of Cornwall Motor Speedway to challenge for the points chase. Unfortunately, the Speedway is still under health restrictions, so the team will work on their second option and that is to do more racing in Quebec.

For Cornwall, Brianna will continue where she left off last year and that is to get in as many 358 points races possible. In 2019 Brianna raced her first full-time season behind the wheel of a 358. However, last season with all the ups and downs of the pandemic, she did not get the seat time she expected. The learning curve is much higher when it comes to this class as the competition is very strong. Her goals set for Cornwall are to be consistent and clean, and things will eventually fall into place as her confidence leave rises within the class.

Normally by this time of the year, Brianna would also be racing Mohawk International Raceway as the track is just a short drive over the St. Lawrence River, but with the border closed and it will most likely remain that way for most of the race season, the team had to look for alternative tracks to compete at. With that said, Brianna and her dad, Mike Ladouceur, both agreed that the team will race in Quebec in 2021.

Brianna knows racing in Quebec will be tough but she likes racing Granby and believes this experience will only enhance her 358 driving skills in the long run.

There is also the Autodrome Drummond and LE RPM Speedways that have sparked their interest and for some special events, Team Ladouceur may venture to either of these tracks.

Racing in Quebec will give Brianna more seat time racing up against a tough field of drivers in la belle province, but she is looking forward to the challenge.

This coming year will be Brianna’s seventh season behind the wheel of a Modified as she progressed through the Sportsman ranks until 2019, when she stepped up into the 358 Modified division.

The 2021 season brings even bigger news out of the Ladouceur camp with the announcement that the now 22-year-old driver will move up into the Big Block Modified class, at selected races. A big move for the ambitious driver, but Brianna has worked towards this step for many years and is now ready for the next chapter of her racing career.

With Quebec’s lifting heath restrictions and Ontario following suit in the coming weeks, this season of racing for Team Ladouceur may prove to be a busy one. Once the border opens, this will allow the team to travel to even more venues and series races.

For now, however, Brianna is excited about the news out of Quebec as she explains: «I am so looking forward to racing in Quebec. Racing against different competitors and learning more by racing with them. Racing these different tracks that I normally don’t run is going to be fun. Learning new skills. I think it’s honestly going to make me a better driver.» For Brianna, 2021 is still about learning and honing her skills further, but the 2018 Mohawk International Raceway Sportsman track champion is quite capable of handling a race car and, will in time, transition well into her new division.
