CD Beauchamp remporte la manche initiale de la série DIRTcar Pro-Stock au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – dimanche 7 juillet, 2019 – Martin Bélanger – La série DIRTcar Pro-Stock débute ses activités au Cornwall Motor Speedway ce soir avec une finale de 50 tours en plus de la série Quebec Mini-Modifié, Modifié et Sportsman en cette soirée commanditée par Alexandria Home Hardware.

Jay Corbin et Stephane Lebrun, étaient sur la première ligne au départ de la finale de 50 tours DIRTcar Pro-Stock Alexandria Home Hardware. Corbin aux commandes devant Lebrun et CD Beauchamp. Le premier jaune survient au 3e tour avec quelques voitures s’arrêtant dans le droit arrière. À la relance, Lebrun devient le nouveau meneur momentanément alors que Beauchamp utilise la ligne intérieure et dépasse Lebrun au 5e tour avec Corbin qui garde sa 3e place. Seguin utilise la ligne intérieure à son tour pour prendre la 3e à Corbin, ce dernier perd plusieurs positions avec 5 locaux occupant les premières places. La finale prend du momentum avec les meneurs dans la circulation lourde à la mi-course. Gilles Godard perd sa 5^e place effectuant une sortie de piste au 32^e tour. Beauchamp demeure premier avec Bissonnette 2^e et Rob Yetman maintenant 3^e après avoir parti au 12^e rang. Une relance au 36^e tour donne un peu de fil à retordre à Beauchamp alors que Bissonnette le menace. Beauchamp mène la dernière portion et remporte la manche initiale de la série DIRTcar Pro-Stock.

La finale Loud et Dirty Modifié a vu Corey Wheeler aux commandes avec Carey Terrance et Joey Ladouceur en bataille pour la 2^e avec Terrance ayant le dessus sur Ladouceur au 5^e tour. Terrance commence à s’approcher de Wheeler alors que la finale atteint rapidement la mi-course. Terrance utilise la ligne extérieure pour dépasser Wheeler au 16^e tour et prend une bonne avance. Terrance s’est construit une avance d’un droit sur Wheeler avec 5 tours à effectuer. Terrance mène les derniers tours pour remporter sa première victoire de la saison devant Wheeler et Kyle Dingwall.

Ryan Stabler était le meneur dans la finale Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman menant le peloton de 31 voitures au vert, Shane Pecore effectue quelques manoueuvres pour dépasser Stabler au 3^e tour avec Brianna Ladouceur et Gabriel Cyr avec eux. La finale prend un bon rythme avec les meneurs dans la circulation lourde. Les conditions apportent les meneurs ensemble avec Stabler qui s’approche du leader. Pecore mène les derniers tours pour une 6^e victoire cette saison avec Stabler et Cyr le top 3.

La finale de 20 tours en Mini-Modifié du Québec a vu Daniel Demers mener la finale au complet pour ainsi remporter sa première victoire en carrière dans cette série devant Niko Halikas et Jonathan Lapolice, beaucoup d’action derrière le meneur dans cette finale.

Une autre série DIRTcar sera présente la semaine prochaine avec la 3^e manche de la série 358-Modifié avec une finale de 100 tours en plus d’un programme complet dans les autres divisions.

CD Beauchamp wins initial round of DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday,July 7, 2019 – Martin Bélanger – The DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series started tonight at Cornwall Motor Speedway with a 50-lap feature along with the Quebec Mini-Modifieds, Modified and Sportsman on Alexandria Home Hardware night.

Jay Corbin and Stephane Lebrun were on the front row of the Alexandria Home Hardware 50 as Corbin took the lead over Lebrun and CD Beauchamp in third. First caution came on lap 3 as a few cars got tangled in the backstretch. On the restart, Lebrun to the lead with Beauchamp running close to him. Beauchamp took the inside lane and took the lead on lap 5 with Corbin holding on third. Seguin used the inside lane to pass Corbin as he faded with the top 5 positions being held by local runner with Dave Bissonnette and Gilles Godard with 15 laps in the books. The feature picked up some momentum as they ran as the leaders were in heavy traffic by lap 25. Having a strong run Godard spun in turn 3 on lap 32 and the yellow lights were displayed to the field. Beauchamp the race leader as Bissonnette jumped to second with Rob Yetman joining the front three after starting 12th as Marc Lalonde cracked the top 5 with 15 laps to go. Caution on lap 36, on the ensuing restart Beauchamp got challenged by Bissonnette as Seguin got back to third with the top lane coming to life in the final portion of the feature event. Nobody had nothing for Beauchamp who went on to win the initial round of the DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series.

The Loud and Dirty Modified saw Corey Wheeler to the lead with Carey Terrance and Joey Ladouceur battling for second with Terrance getting the edge on lap 5. Terrance started to reel into Wheeler as the feature got to halfway point. Terrance used the top lane to power by Wheeler for the lead on lap 16 and pulled away. Terrance had almost a stretch lead on Wheeler with 5 laps to go. Terrance led the final laps to win his first feature of the season in front of Wheeler and Kyle Dingwall.

Ryan Stabler was the early leader in the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman leading the 31-car field to the lead as Shane Pecore made a good move to pass Stabler on lap 3 with Brianna Ladouceur and Gabriel Cyr in the mix. The feature had a good rhythm with the leaders in heavy traffic. These conditions brought the leaders together with Stabler closing in on the leader. Pecore led final laps to get a 6^th win over Stabler and Cyr completes the top 3.

The Quebec Mini-Modifieds 20-lap feature race saw Daniel Demers leading the way in front of Jonathan Lapolice. Demers led all laps to get his first career win in this series in front of Niko Halikas and Jonathan Lapolice, a lot of action behind Demers during that event.

Another DIRTcar series will be in town next week as the 358-Modified Series will be here with a 100-lap feature race along with a complete show in other classes.
