Matt Sheppard remporte la victoire de la série Gros-Bloc Super DIRTcar au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – dimanche 30 juin, 2019 – Martin Bélanger – Un des plus gros évènements de la saison alors que les Gros-Blocs étaient en ville! La série Gros-Bloc Super DIRTcar était présente avec toutes ces vedettes pour une finale de 100 tour payant 7 500$ au vainqueur en plus des Sportsman et Mini-Stock en cette soirée commanditée par les Entreprise ICM.

Mat Williamson et Corey Wheeler sur la première ligne du O’Canada 100 de la série Gros-Bloc Super DIRTcar avec Wheeler qui prend les commandes sur Williamson et Matt Sheppard au 3^e rang. Wheeler prend les commandes de l’intérieur au 10^e tour. Les meneurs étaient dans la circulation lourde au 13^e tour. Danny Johnson utilise son expérience pour prendre la première après avoir été au 4^e rang au 15^e tour. Le premier jaune survient au 20^e tour pour Mike Mahaney. À la relance, Danny Johnson mène le bal avec Sheppard qui suit de près et Billy Decker en 3^e. La bataille a lieu pour la première avec 35 tours d’effectuer avec Sheppard qui utilise la ligne extérieure pour les commandes au 39^e tour. Les meneurs dans la circulation lourde avec Johnson qui sort de piste et perd plusieurs positions avec Larry Wight qui monte au 2^e rang. Sheppard le meneur avec Steve Bernard qui fait son entrée dans le top 3 après avoir parti 17^e. Sheppard en avant avec Wight et Williamson de retour dans les premiers avec 20 tours à faire. Sheppard mène la dernière portion pour remporter la victoire devant Wight et Williamson.

Robert Delormier aux commandes de la finale de 25 tours Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman avec Shane Pecore et Moise Page derrière le meneur. Une relance au 3^e tour avec Page en 2^e position et les 2 pilotes qui prennent une bonne avance sur le reste du peloton avec Ricky Thompson en 3^e. Delormier dans la circulation par la mi-course avec Page qui tente de suivre le rythme. Delormier avait une voiture rapide et brise la séquence victorieuse de Shane Pecore. Delormier termine devant Page et Thompson.

Dans la finale de 15 tours Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell, Justin Jodoin mène le bal sur Alexis Charbonneau et Yannick Potvin en 3^e. Le top 3 avait une bonne bataille avec Potvin au 2^e rang au 4^e tour. Potvin utilise la ligne intérieure pour prendre les devants sur Jodoin avec 8 tours de complétés. Quelques neutralisations ralentissent la course mais cela n’empêche pas Potvin de remporter sa première victoire sur Jodoin avec Tyler Lamarche sur la 3^e marche du podium.

Les Pro-Stock seront en vedette dimanche prochain avec la série DIRTcar en ville pour une finale de 50 tours en plus de la série Mini-Modifié du Québec en plus d’un programme complet sans les Mini-Stock.

Matt Sheppard wins the Super DIRTcar Series at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, June 30, 2019 – Martin Bélanger –The big blocks were in town tonight! The Super DIRTcar Series was making his annual stop with a 100-lap event with the winner getting $7,500! The Sportsman and Mini-Stock were also on the card on les Entreprises ICM night.

Mat Williamson and Corey Wheeler were on the front row of the O’Canada 100 Super DIRTcar Series Feature as Wheeler took the lead over Williamson and Matt Sheppard in third. Wheeler got a lead over the field as Sheppard took second on lap 8 and set sights on Wheeler. Sheppard used the inside lane to take the lead on lap 10. The leaders were in heavy traffic by lap 13. Danny Johnson used his experience as he maneuvered to the lead from 4^th on lap 15. First caution was out on lap 20 for Mike Mahaney. On the restart, Danny Johnson to the lead with Sheppard closely in second and Billy Decker moving to third. The battle was going on for the lead with 35 laps in the books as Sheppard used the outside lane to regain the lead on lap 39. The leaders were back in heavy traffic as Johnson went off in turn 4 and lost several positions as Larry Wight moved to second. Sheppard in front as Steve Bernard made his way to the top 3 after starting in 17^th. Sheppard was strong in front as Wight and Williamson were the front 3 with 20 laps to go. Sheppard led the final 20 laps to capture the feature over Wight and Williamson.

Robert Delormier to the lead in the 25-lap Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman with Shane Pecore and Moise Page behind the leader. A lap 3 restart saw Delormier leading over Page as the two drivers pulled away from the field with Ricky Thompson now in third. Delormier got into traffic by halfway point with Page trying to close the gap. Delormier put on a clinic and broke the winning streak of Shane Pecore. Delormier finished in front of Page and Thompson.

In the Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock 15-lap feature, Justin Jodoin led the way in front of Alexis Charbonneau and Yannick Potvin in third. The top 3 had a good battle with Potvin moving to second on lap 4. Potvin used the inside lane to take the lead over Jodoin on lap 8 with Charbonneau in third. A few cautions slowed the field down, but Potvin managed to keep the lead and got his first win of the season over Jodoin and Tyler Lamarche on the third step of the podium.
