Shane Pecore Wins Fulton Speedway’s High Bank Hold-Up 50 Shane Pecore, scores victory at the Fulton Speedways High Bank Hold – up dominating the 50-lap feature race. With 56 Sportsman Modified checked into the pits at Fulton Speedway, the father and son Pecore race team definitely had their work cut out for the visiting victory lane. The young 24-year-old, coming off a disappointing end to last season, would, however, show the field who was boss at the Fulton High Banks. Setting the fastest time in his group in time trials, plus winning his heat race, this would set the stage for the feature event. Once the green flag was dropped, Shane began picking off cars and, by lap 11, took the lead and never looked back. Yes, there were a few yellows along the way, but each time Shane would pick up where he left off. By lap 40, Shane was beginning to lap traffic, which forced him to run in the middle of the track, where large holes had developed from the night’s racing. This move allowed Matt Janczuk in car 33x and Kevin Root in the 34 car to reel in the number 0 car. As the race progressed and to avoid the holes which had formed, I began running low on the track, but once I came upon lapped traffic, I had to move higher, but at the same time, watching for the holes as not to cut a tire.” He went on to say you have to finish a race to win a race and, in the end, the new car ran flawlessly and he got the win. A great win for the small family team from St Andrews, Ontario, along with a bit of redemption. Photo credit: Don Simpson
