Maxime Plante Lives out his Dream Recently at Autodrome Granby I had the pleasure of photographing Maxime Plante while he was getting some pre-race advice from his childhood hero and times Super DirtCar champion Matt Sheppard. Shortly after time trials, the young St-Hyacinthe racer made his way from one end of the pits to the other and introduced himself to Matt. Sheppard greeted Max and the two began exchanging thoughts about the track and their car set-ups. Crédit photo : Don Simpson It was clear for the short term that Max was a little nervous at first, but once he saw that Matt was more than happy to share ideas and his set–up strategies, the two immersed themselves into the discussion. Crédit photo : Don Simpson Time went by and Max was full of new ideas provided by Matt but the young racer had one more thing to say. He explained to Matt that he has dreamed of racing against him since a young boy. The five-time champion put his hand on Max’s shoulder and explained, ”You have made it, you’re here and doing it tonight.” Max looked at Matt, smiled with realization, as the two parted ways.
