A lot of anticipation surrounding the BACC-OFF Pro Stock Feature

Chroniques Steve Brillant
Those cars which can remind us of the NASCAR series cars will have the chance to be under the spotlight on Sunday October 12th. Their feature will be run right before the Syracuse 200 for the Big Blocks. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the number of cars that we might get this year. The lowest total of 29 drivers was reached in 2011 and with a lot of tracks removing the Pro Stocks for their regular classes; it’s hard to say what the roster will be. A total of 214 Pro Stock drivers have raced on the Mile since the first event back in 1997.

I remember…

One of the best features we’ve seen at Syracuse was in the Pro Stock class, during the 40th edition of Super Dirt Week. Drivers using the outside lane to make some passes and there was an incredible battle up front for the top-5 positions; it was one of those races for the ages. Rocky Warner ended winning that feature by edging Rob Yetman to the checkers. Pete Stefanski, Joey Ladouceur and Jocelyn Roy completed the top-5 that year. In 2014, we’ll add another chapter in this history books and we can’t wait to see how it will unfold. Once again, Rob Yetman, Rocky Warner and Pete Stefanski should be in the mix for the victory, but let’s underestimate the Quebec drivers Francois Adam and Jocelyn Roy. The 2013 DIRTcar Series champion, Dave Bissonnette will be another one to keep an eye on. With the quality of the show that these guys give us, I do believe they should consider adding more laps to the 25 that is designated to this class. Francois Adam is always a guy to watch in Syracuse and this year should be no different. Adam is coming off his best finish of 4th in the race last year. Rock Aubin had his best showing of 4th back in 2012, can he improve on that this year? Dave Bissonnette has always 1 top-5 to his credit in Syracuse, can he add to that this year? Glenn Foward ended up with a podium finish last year, can he do it again? Pete Stefanski was disappointed with his 2nd place finish last year. He’s the driver with the most experience on the mile with 13 starts to his credit, do not underestimate him. Rob Yetman was able to grace Victory Lane last year after coming so close so many times. Only 3 drivers have won this event 2 years in a row, can he add his name to the list? Jocelyn Roy wants to his improve on his career best finish of 5th on the Mile. The 2014 Granby Track Champion sits on top on the DIRTcar Series standings going into the last race of the year. Once again, a lot of Quebec drivers are expected to make the trip down to the New York State Fairgrounds this year including new comers Stephane Lemire and Richard Bertrand.
