Tabatha Murphy 2011 Season in Review; Murphy Motorsports Puts Disappointing Season in the Past and Looks Ahead to 2012
Craig Revelle – Finish Line Web Design

November 7, 2011

When the 2011 racing season got underway for Tabatha Murphy and the Murphy Motorsports team, their focus was on their weekly racing program at Brockville Speedway. Throughout the season, Murphy also dabbled in events at Cornwall Speedway and Mohawk Raceway late in the season.

The first month of the season at Brockville was tough for Murphy, failing to post a top ten finish after the first four weeks of competition despite the hard work and dedication of both the driver and team. The first top ten finally came at the end of June with an impressive seventh place finish, after leading the opening laps of the race.

The bad luck that plagued the team in the opening month of the year returned in July, and she posted three consecutive DNF’s. She rebounded late in the month with another top ten, and scored a 15th place finish in her only appearance of the year at Cornwall.

Although the team worked hard to battle through a tough season, luck was just not on their side, and after a disappointing month of August, with mechanical failures, and being at the wrong place at the wrong time, Murphy finished August with finishes well below what the team had hoped.

The 2011 season ended with the DIRTcar Fall Nationals at Brockville. 49 Sportsman cars entered, and Tabatha was able to make the starting field, qualifying through here heat race. Problems developed early, and Tabatha was not able to finish the race.

Plans for the 2012 racing season have not been finalized at this time, but it is certain that the team will be back at Brockville next season. With a little more luck on their side, the team hopes to be a top ten car in track points next season, and work on being more consistent throughout the season.

Tabatha Murphy would like to thank King Edward Auto Parts, Brockville Tractor Trailer Maintenance, Allan Bell and Associates, Reabel’s Plumbing, Splash Well Drilling and Finish Line Web Design for all of their support. We have worked hard this season to represent our sponsors proudly and we look forward to working with you all again in 2012.
