Billy Dunn Looks Ahead to Final Events of 2011 Season; Brockville Speedway Rained Out

October 17, 2011

After a good weekend last week at Super DIRT Week, Billy Dunn was looking to get back on track at Brockville Speedway. The Super DIRTcar Series visits the BOS just once a season, and Dunn was looking to improve on his eighth place run last year. This event is part of Brockville’s Northeast Fall Nationals, which included the Big Block Modifieds for the second year in a row.

After rain all night on Friday, and again most of the day on Saturday, Brockville Speedway officials were forced to make a decision regarding Sunday’s schedule, and in the end, the Big Blocks were removed from the event.

Coming up next for Dunn will be a trip to Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York this coming weekend. After a week off, Dunn will finish out the 2011 season by taking part in the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina during the first week of November.

The 2011 season has been good for Dunn, posting seven wins, 22 top five finishes and 27 top ten finishes in 37 starts this year so far. He has claimed the Can Am Motorsports Park Championship for the third consecutive season.

If Dunn’s Super DIRT Week was any indication, the rest of the 2011 season looks very promising for the Watertown, New York racer. While the results at the end of the 200 lap main event weren’t there after being caught up in a wreck, the rest of the week was a success, grabbing the outside pole in qualifying, winning his heat race, and winning a 20 lap shootout in preliminary events leading up to the S.E.F. 200 at the New York State Fairgrounds.

Dunn is proud to race under the banner of American Traditions Motorsports for his second full season. With the support of ATM, Pemco Contracting, Number One Speed, Fast Lube of Watertown, Frosty’s Ice Cream, SUNY Canton, Jiffy Dumpster, Finger Lakes Auto Machine, North Country Custom, R & D Fabrication and Bicknell Racing Products, 2011 has been a very exciting season for Billy Dunn.
