Dunn Returns to Can Am Victory Lane; Top Ten Finish at Canandaigua

With just three weeks remaining in the 2011 racing season as far as weekly track points are concerned, Billy Dunn entered this past weekend looking to clinch the Can Am 358 Modified track championship. He also traveled to Canandaigua Speedway on Saturday looking for his first win of the season at the track know as the Land of Legends.
On Friday night at Can Am, Dunn was looking to secure the 2011 championship at Can Am. He took advantage of a lap 14 yellow, and made the winning pass on the ensuing restart to pick up his sixth win of the year. Dunn was the Can Am champion the past two seasons in the Big Block division, and conquered the Small Block title this year, as he carries over an impressive 136 point lead with just two weeks remaining, making it impossible for anyone to catch him.
“We have had a great year at Can Am as far as wins and running consistently”, says Dunn. “It took us a few weeks to get the Small Block car dialed in, as we were used to running the Big Block here. Since then, we have been pretty fast”.
At Canandaigua on Saturday night, Dunn finished second in his qualifying heat race. In the 35 lap main event, he finished in ninth place. They have three events left on the schedule with a regular night this coming week, and then double features on Labor Day Weekend.
This coming weekend Dunn will be looking to add another win to his totals at Can Am on Friday night and then back to Canandaigua Speedway on Saturday.
