Dunn Scores Fifth Win of the Season at Can Am Motorsports Park

After a weekend away from the track last week due to a rainout at Can Am on Friday night, and Canandaigua being closed for their annual Fair, Billy Dunn was anxious to get back on track this past weekend. Just one event was on the schedule for Dunn, back in the 358 Modified on Friday night at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park.



Dunn and his team rolled into the Lafargeville, New York track on Friday afternoon, with an enormous lead in the point standings. After winning his qualifying heat, Dunn looked to stretch that lead even further in the 25 lap feature. Dunn fired from the outside of the front row, taking the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back on his way to his fifth win of the season at Can Am. Dunn now leads the points by 120 points over second place as they head into the final full month of the season.



“It was nice to see a few more cars here tonight”, says Dunn. “They have struggled to get cars here all year, so it was nice to see a few more in the pits. Hopefully they can build on this and keep it up for the rest of the season”.



Saturday night was once again a quiet night, as Canandaigua did not have their regular racing program on the schedule.



This coming week, Dunn will be back at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night, and Canandaigua Motorsports Park will be back to their regular Saturday night format. Despite missing a week at Canandaigua at the start of the season, Dunn sits sixth in track points.



Dunn is proud to race under the banner of American Traditions Motorsports for his second full season. With the support of ATM, Pemco Contracting, Number One Speed, Fast Lube of Watertown, Frosty’s Ice Cream, SUNY Canton, Jiffy Dumpster, Finger Lakes Auto Machine, North Country Custom, R & D Fabrication and Bicknell Racing Products, 2011 will be a very exciting season for Billy Dunn.
